On February 10, 2022, the Latvian Environmental Investment Fund in cooperation with the other RoundBaltic project partners organized an online training seminar/discussion on the development of ESCO market and EPC to promote the attraction of energy efficiency projects and investments. There were more than 140 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and other European Union countries present in this event, representing state, municipal and financial institutions, as well as private sector and service providers.
The following topics were touched upon:
- Conditions for adequate supply of private finance for energy efficiency investments and the need for innovative financing schemes at regional or national level.
- Overview on national status in ESCO and EPC
- Main guidance and recommendations on EPC involvement in achieving energy efficiency in public sector.
The learning event focused on how to assist public authorities in making clever decisions by unlocking the potential of energy efficiency investments in public sector as well as to enhance a constructive exchange of views and recommendations between policy makers, state institutions and local governments to promote the attraction of private funding for sustainable energy efficiency in Latvia.
