HOW TO ACCELERATE ENERGY EFFICIENCY INVESTMENTS

Development of ESCO Market and EPC

Thursday, 10th February, 2022, from 09.00 am - 12.00 pm CET (online)

On February 10, 2022, the Latvian Environmental Investment Fund in cooperation with the other RoundBaltic project partners organized an online training seminar/discussion on the development of ESCO market and EPC to promote the attraction of energy efficiency projects and investments. There were more than 140 participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and other European Union countries present in this event, representing state, municipal and financial institutions, as well as private sector and service providers.

The following topics were touched upon:

  1. Conditions for adequate supply of private finance for energy efficiency investments and the need for innovative financing schemes at regional or national level.
  2. Overview on national status in ESCO and EPC
  3. Main guidance and recommendations on EPC involvement in achieving energy efficiency in public sector. 

The learning event focused on how to assist public authorities in making clever decisions by unlocking the potential of energy efficiency investments in public sector as well as to enhance a constructive exchange of views and recommendations between policy makers, state institutions and local governments to promote the attraction of private funding for sustainable energy efficiency in Latvia.

Learning events in RoundBaltic

The scope of RoundBaltic is to address key aspects that can help accelerating energy efficiency investments in Poland, Latvia and Denmark as well as across the entire Baltic Sea Region (BSR) covering public and private buildings as well as the SME sector. The learning events will explore the specific challenges and solutions of these target countries and the prospects of replication in the BSR and EU wide.
